Daphne Update! ❤️She is doing great on the line and can move back and forth on her own. She loves this setup because she gets a sense of independence and she’s able to socialize with the rest of the gang. If you don’t know Daphnes story, she was picked up by a vulture (by her neck) and suffers from partial paralysis. She can walk on her own a bit but doesn’t stand a chance if a hawk or other predator tried to attack so her harness and line I set up is designed to help her practice walking but also to improve her quality of life. $REWARD$ Missing duck toe. 🫣😳😆 I was just joking about making the key chain guys. 🤣 For those who haven’t been following, Miles lost his toe in a freak accident where he lost circulation to part of his foot for an extended period of time and I could only save two of three toes. My sweet baby Miles. ❤️ because I don’t want to risk blood loss I’ve opted to use a rubber band tourniquet to encourage the middle toe to fall off on its own. There are not avian vets nearby and this solution has worked best for him so far and there’s a huge improvement in his attitude since I cut away the necrotic tissue and tied off the bad toe.
